WHO WE ARE
ChoraChori (the Nepali word for “children”) is a really special UK-registered charity. We work alongside international project partners to support a range of cutting-edge projects in Nepal, always placing ourselves at the forefront of contemporary needs.
We tackle threats and challenges that others might prefer to avoid – everything from feeding starving families during lockdown, to engaging with the existential threat of climate change.
In short, we make a tangible difference where it counts while giving our supporters a fulfilling experience through original and creative fundraising activities. Please join us!

EDUCATION IN SOUTH NEPAL
In October 2020 we made a great start in supporting the education of children from south Nepal’s “untouchable” communities through a fabulous little project.
ADVENT CALENDAR
This year we have a special online Advent calendar that each day showcases a different aspect of our work and in turn links to the gift list. It takes a moment to register on the calendar site with all registrants who go on to make a gift becoming eligible for a draw on Christmas Eve for a very unique one-off prize. A last-minute surprise gift to yourself!

TURN JANAKPUR GREEN
Alongside large-scale reforestation and rewilding projects, we are also supporting small-scale urban projects. The first of these will be to restore green to a large, rather desolate, park in Janakpur, the capital of Province 2 in south Nepal.
BIG GIVE CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE
Once again, ChoraChori is taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge. Can you help us reach our fundraising target towards our 2021 goals?

GATES OF BRONZE
Gates of Bronze is Philip Holmes’ inspirational and moving memoir of personal and professional triumph against the odds, of enduring love, written by a man who looked death in the face and vowed, “I will not give in.”
When Philip’s first wife, Esther Benjamins, took her own life in January 1999 he refused to be overwhelmed by grief and despair. Instead, he turned his back immediately upon a promising career as a British Army officer and set up a charity for Nepalese children to perpetuate Esther’s love and burning sense of social justice.
“Gates of Bronze is gripping and tragic and yet dappled with hope and extraordinary accomplishments. It’s easy to see how you stepped into the river and were swept away by its massive demands. Bravo Philip!”

A GIFT TO NEPAL IN YOUR WILL?
ChoraChori receives no government funding in either the UK or Nepal. We are entirely reliant upon grants from corporates and Foundations along with gifts that arise from community fundraising and individual supporters. Please do remember our needs if you are writing or updating your will. Even gifting 1% for ChoraChori after you have made provision for your top priorities could be made to go a very long way in Nepal. For further information on how we spent donations last year please check this summary of our accounts. And to find out more, just write to the ChoraChori Founder, Philip Holmes
