- Personal information and email addresses
We will only collect personal information that you knowingly and willingly provide, for example when you send us a donation or or write to us. Where you contact us directly you do so at your own discretion and you provide any personal details requested at your own risk. We may also receive information about you from a third party such as a friend or colleague who refers you to our website. Names and addresses are also collected from online fundraising platforms (e.g. BT MyDonate) but only when the donor ticks the box to indicate that they wish to hear further from the charity. ChoraChori will only use your details to keep you informed about our work, including fundraising.
Email requests for any specific information will only be retained for the period needed to respond to the request. Personal details contained in these emails will not be retained unless you have specifically consented to this and where they are retained they will be stored securely.
We promise not to sell your details to anyone else. You will be provided with an opportunity to opt out of all or any of these uses.
- Financial Information
We will only collect financial information in order to process financial transactions such as debit/credit card donations. We will not retain your financial details in our database.
Certain cookies are persistent, meaning that they last beyond your session such as an option to remember a username .
- Third Party Content
ChoraChori’s website may use social sharing buttons which help share web content directly from web pages to the social media platorm (e.g. Facebook etc). Users are advised that they use these at their own discretion and that the social media platform may track and save your request to share a web page through your social media platform account.
We do not sell or pass on personal details to any other person or organisation unless we are legally required to do so for example for auditing of gift aid donors by HMRC. No database information is shared with our project partners without prior permission.
We use our best efforts to keep the data that we hold secure and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and regularly review our data policies. All data is transmitted to our site at your own risk.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you (for which we may charge a small fee) and to have any inaccuracies in your information corrected.
