Longer term we are supporting the rebuilding of two primary schools in Lalitpur District and one in Kavre District near Kathmandu. They are Shree Chapakharka, Shree Tulashadevi in Lalitpur and Surya Schools at Rayale in Kavre. Click on the image on the left to see Shailaja CM, Director of ChoraChori Nepal, explaining the need. All rebuilding should be completed by the spring of 2016.

Following the disastrous earthquakes of April and May 2015, schools were destroyed in the Districts around Kathmandu. ChoraChori has responded from its limited means to encourage children to remain in education through providing mid-day meals at two schools, one in Lalitpur District and one in Kavre District. This programme, although modest in outlay, has had a huge impact in supporting the Temporary Learning Centres that we have set up to allow education to continue during the 2015 monsoon season.
